This linear house hugs a hillside at the mouth of Carmel Valley, raising it’s simple shed roof to dramatic views down the California Coast. All of the rooms are organized along a central north/south gallery which functions both as the main circulation corridor for the house and as a display space for the clients collection of modern art. Deep overhangs and lightly detailed brise-soleil allow the home to enjoy it’s views while not being overpowered by the glare of the setting sun to the west.
