Santa Lucia Preserve

Like many of our projects, this residence is a Carmel Valley retreat created for a busy family from the Bay Area. The house is designed as a cluster of individual structures and is reminiscent of the ranch buildings and bunk houses which once occupied the larger ranch on which the house is sited. The simple forms evoke buildings of a bygone era which were deeply rooted in the landscape, while the modern detailing and thoughtfully organized spaces create a fresh and vibrant expression for the site’s new occupants.
